This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to our mobile app, our website at yourchurches.org, and the public church pages we host.

How we use information

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers for their own marketing.

What is public

Church profile information — name, location, service times, contact details a church chooses to publish, events, and sermons — is intended to be public and appears on the church's page and in search engines. Prayer requests, chat messages, member directories, and member contact details are not public. Our public web endpoints deliberately strip personal fields such as event attendees and prayer request authors.

Who we share information with

We share only what is needed to run the service, with providers acting on our behalf:

We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect someone's safety.

Analytics and advertising

Our website uses Google Analytics and the Meta pixel to understand how visitors find and use the site so we can reach more churches. These set cookies and may be used to measure advertising. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on, your browser's cookie controls, or your device's tracking settings. The mobile app does not run advertising.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. Write to us and we will honor them.

Retention

We keep your account information while your account is active. When you delete your account we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where we must retain records to meet legal, accounting, or security obligations. Content you posted to a shared space, such as a chat message others have replied to, may remain visible unless you ask us to remove it.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit with HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Access to production data is restricted and authenticated. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information and will notify you of a breach affecting your personal data as required by law.

Children

The app is intended for general congregational use and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it. See also our child safety standards.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
