Child Safety Standards
Last updated: October 2026
Your Churches™ has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and
exploitation (CSAE). This page sets out our standards, how to report a concern, and what we do
when we receive a report. It is published in line with Google Play's Child Safety Standards
policy and applies to every part of our service that allows people to post content.
If a child is in immediate danger, call 911 (or your local emergency number)
first. In the United States you can also report to the
NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org or
1-800-843-5678. Please report to us as well so we can remove content and suspend accounts.
Our standards
The following are prohibited anywhere on Your Churches, without exception:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in any form, real or generated.
- Sexualized depictions or descriptions of minors.
- Grooming, solicitation, sextortion, or any attempt to make sexual contact with a minor.
- Trafficking of, or advertising for, a minor.
- Promoting, normalizing, or glorifying sexual interest in minors.
- Sharing another person's child's images or details with harmful intent.
These rules apply to chat messages, prayer requests, uploaded photos and videos, event and
bulletin content, church profiles, and any other user-submitted material.
How to report a concern
Report suspected child exploitation by email to our child safety contact below. You do not
need an account to report, you may report anonymously, and you do not need to be certain
— tell us what you saw and we will investigate.
If you can, include the name of the church, the approximate date and time, and a description
of the content or account involved. Please do not forward or attach suspected child sexual
abuse material; describe it instead, and report it to NCMEC using the link above.
Church leaders can also remove content from their own church immediately from the app's admin
tools while we review a report.
What we do when we receive a report
-
We act fast. Child safety reports are prioritized above all other reports
and reviewed as quickly as possible.
-
We remove the content. Material we assess as CSAE is taken down
immediately, before any appeal.
-
We suspend the account. Accounts involved are suspended and, on
confirmation, permanently banned. We also block the person from rejoining under a new
account where we are able to.
-
We report it. Apparent CSAM is reported to the National Center for Missing
& Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by US law, and to law enforcement where
appropriate.
-
We preserve evidence. Relevant records are preserved for law enforcement in
line with legal requirements, and we cooperate fully with lawful investigations.
-
We notify the church. Where a church's leadership needs to act to protect
people in their care, we tell them, unless doing so would compromise an investigation.
How we reduce risk by design
-
The app is built for congregational use and is not directed at children under 13.
We do not knowingly allow accounts for children under 13.
-
Chat and member directories are restricted to approved members of a church. There is no
open, public, stranger-to-stranger messaging.
-
Joining a church requires approval by that church's leadership, so participants are known to
a local community.
-
Private content such as prayer requests, member contact details, and chat is never exposed on
public pages or public web endpoints.
-
Images uploaded to a church's public media gallery are screened by automated content
moderation before they are published.
Compliance
We comply with applicable child safety laws, including US reporting obligations under 18
U.S.C. § 2258A, and with the child safety requirements of the Apple App Store and Google
Play. We review these standards regularly and update them as our features and the law change.
